Audi`s Formula 1 project executive director Adam Baker spoke about the team`s goals for the future.
Audi will become a co-owner of Sauber and will compete in F1 with its own factory team starting from the 2026 season.
According to Baker, Audi-Sauber is targeting title contention in its third year in the championship. And mainly the team`s prospects will depend on the efficiency of the Audi-designed engine.
Our goal is to be in a leading position in our third year in F1. To do this we need to design a top-level engine.
We are proud that Formula 1 will once again have a German team based in Germany. Motorsport is an integral part of Audi`s nature. And of course, such a brand does not come to Formula 1 for the sake of catching up. We want to succeed. This goal gives us motivation - otherwise you simply have no business being in this business, " Baker said.
